Emma Harrison
About Emma Harrison

Emma is a third-generation farmer, mother of three and wife of a Peterborough Paramedic. After being elected in April 2025, Emma put the family farming business on hold to represent the Peterborough riding in Ottawa.

Her genuine compassion, kind heart and positivity are undeniable and helped her clinch her spot as Member of Parliament.

Although Emma never envisioned herself in politics, her concern for the future of our children, the environment and Canada’s sovereignty pushed her to step forward.

Of course, working under Prime Minister Mark Carney sealed the deal. His accomplishments and integrity speak volumes about his work ethic, which align with Emma’s values.

Despite the pause on the business end of farming, the farm work doesn’t stop. Emma and her family continue to care for their herd of cattle and tend to their field of flowers, for weddings.

Growing up, Emma excelled at sports. As an elite player, she received a lacrosse scholarship at Niagara University in the United States. Emma went on to play for Team Canada, winning MVP twice during her career.

On home turf, Emma played for Kawartha Lacrosse and attended Lakefield District Secondary School.

During her time in Niagara, Emma studied sociology with a minor in ethics.

Emma sits on the Agricultural and Agri-Food Committee, is Vice-Chair of the Liberal Women’s Caucus and is an Associate Member of the Public Accounts Committee.
